MEET CORAL MCDONALD -Fashion Management Student

As a fashion management student, I am interested in experiencing as many aspects of the industry as possible. I have some experience in Fashion Merchandising Admin work, and am looking to gain more. Fashion has played a big part in my life since my mid-teens, especially with being alternative and queer. Queerness and fashion often go hand in hand - especially with the recent trend of androgynising fashion. When it comes to fashion and alternative identities, there is a lot of emphasis on DIY - I personally partake in this by editing my own garments, be that through bedazzlement or other forms of embellishment.

It is clear from a lot of my outfits that self expression is what draws me to the fashion industry - I think that being able to express oneself through clothing is so important , especially with the state of the world these days. Fashion is how I found freedom, and that liberating feeling is something I want to help others feel through their clothing - rather than just being a material item, something meaningful.

Though my personal style is incredibly important to me, I also am comfortable working over an array of different styles - I have worked with a brand that caters towards older people and enjoyed the work I did there, I am very flexible when it comes to the styles I will work with.
