A positive thinking, hardworking perfectionist studying Fashion management BA at Nottingham Trent University, interested in fashion forecasting. Product Development

  • Hands-on experience with textiles and the different kinds of materials used for different kinds of garments, 

  • Obtained experience with sustainability in the fashion industry as well as exploring the journey a garment goes through from thread to shipping, 

  • Comp-shopping experience in order to determine trends and figure out what is popular to aid with trend forecasting.

Global Fashion Business

  • Learned about the process a garment goes through from manufacture to store, 

  • Walked through the background of financing a fashion business, respective to place of manufacture, sourcing, shipping, etc. 

  • Completed small research projects on story merchandising as compared to statement merchandising, and where each would be more/less useful.

Brand Me

  • Gained knowledge about what makes a good brand (logos, simplicity, etc.) and how to market oneself in the most effective way, 

  • Explored the use of advertisements in order to tell a story to intrigue a target audience.

  • Was left to man the bar on occasion, learned how to use the electronic tills and had to become good with customer management which gives a good understanding of people and how to socialise in a professional manner, 

  • Helped with events and keeping a good brand image by being punctual and dressed appropriately, 

  • Developed teamworking skills quickly as I was quick to get hands-on with working here. 

Mott MacDonald
August 2021

  • One week of online work experience with Scottish company Mott MacDonald 

  • Compiled a presentation of findings about designing a new high-speed rail, had to consider financing, break-even, how many people would use it and who to design the rail for – which helped to develop skills in critical thinking and problem solving. 

Pearson Business School 
July 2021

  • Listened to guest lecturers from companies such as Snapchat discuss their brand work and how they became as recognisable as they are, 

  • Developed knowledge of how to work and communicate within a business, 

  • Technological advantage – this was during COVID era, so it was crucial to be able to communicate effectively via technology.
